The problem

Pressure and scan data arrived in vendor formats, orthotic orders were sent by email with attachments, and claim forms for podiatric procedures were filled by hand.

How we approached it

We wrote ingestion adapters for the common pressure plate and 3D scanner exports, rendered the data in 3D with comparable views, and turned orthotic orders into a structured work-order pipeline that connects clinics with fabrication labs and tracks each order to delivery. A patient app covers recovery milestones, footwear compliance and home exercises, and a claims module formats procedures for podiatric billing.

What we built

  • Ingestion and visualization of 3D foot and lower leg pressure mapping data
  • Orthotic manufacturing work-order pipeline between clinics and fabrication labs
  • Patient companion app for recovery milestones, footwear compliance and post-surgical exercises
  • Billing and insurance claim generation formatted for podiatric procedures
  • Side by side comparison of scans over time
  • Lab portal with order status and file delivery
Architecture

How the pieces fit together

2Import adapters
3Clinical record and 3D viewer
4Lab pipeline and claims
AdaptersEach device vendor has an adapter that validates and converts to one internal format, so the viewer and storage do not care where data came from.
Work ordersOrders are state machines with audit history, attachments and shared messages between the clinic and the lab.
ClaimsProcedure and diagnosis codes are suggested from the visit and validated before export.
Safeguards built in

Security and compliance controls

  • Validated file ingestion
  • Encrypted storage of scans
  • Lab access limited to the order
  • Full order audit history
  • Role based clinical access
What changed

Outcomes for the operator

  • Measurements from different devices can be viewed and compared in one place.
  • Orthotic orders no longer get lost in email.
  • Claims are cleaner at first submission.
